Description:
Purpose of nature recovery works: Hydrology recovery (damping ponds and canals), restoring peat area and grasslands. Place of implementation: The works take place in the province of Limburg in the municipality of Hechtel-Eksel and Lummen. The location of the plots on which works are planned are shown on the cards in the appendices of the special cutlery. The works take place in a special protection zone (SBZ). The area was referred to by the European Union as a Habitats Directive area and is part of the Natura 2000 network. As a result, a number of vegetations and habitats are protected in addition to a whole list of rare animal species (species and habitats of the Habitats Directive). These works are aimed at restoring these Natura 2000 habitats. Nature of the assignment: the works cover various work zones and include: • Pags and excavation top layer • Cleaning up weekend residence • harvesting trees and woody storage (on extremely wet peat soils) • Magging ditches, canals, ponds and ponds • Mowing grasslands • Raising a road • Exot control • Controlemaibeens
