Description:
Environment Brussels wants to conduct a study into the presence of bird populations in the Brussels -Capital Region.
This public contract is the concrete implementation of the monitoring obligation for bird populations, as stipulated in the Implementation Decree of the Brussels government of 25/10/2018(Decree of the Brussels -Capital Government concerning a supervisory schedule for the monitoring of the State of Nature in the Brussels -Capital Region).
Thanks to this monitoring, the region can meet reporting obligations, including Article 12 of the Birds Directive, in collaborationWith the Flemish Region (ANB & INBO) and the Walloon Region (SPW-Demna), for the period 2019-2024.
The duties of the present assignment will consist of the deregistration of a bird atlas and on the other hand the continuous monitoring that has been in the entire region since 1992executed. This makes it possible to detect negative or positive trends in the bird populations and to divert hypotheses or conclusions about the causes of these annual fluctuations. In 2021-2024, a government contract for the updating of the Bird Atlas of the BrusselsCapital Region carried out (government contract 2020G0330). The output of that assignment is updated cartographic data (on a scale of 1x1km) of the species that are present in the Brussels -Capital Region.
