- VUB collaboration between the laboratory of In vivo Cellular and Molecular Imaging (ICMI) and the electronics department (ETRO) brings together multidisciplinary and complementary expertise in the field of nanobody tracers and "real-time fluorescent lifetime" image visualization. These two keytechnologies are being combined to show surgeons during operations where cancer tissue is located, to more accurately know which parts to remove, and what to leave based on the presence and longevity of the fluorescent nanobody tracers. Other applicationsn can also benefit from these key technologies, but have yet to be identified. The valorization manager's job is to analyze and identify financing opportunities and contribute to new grant projects through a valorization and business development strategistto develop for the group in the longer term. Key industry players need to be involved, convincing prototypes need to be created by the group, key customers need to be identified and a path to one or more spin-off companies needs to be chartedjven. He/she will also contribute to the reporting of the projects.
