Description:
Concluding a framework agreement with a view to the purchase, delivery and commissioning of a Tier-1 High Performance Computing system (supercomputer), scratch storage system and services for use within the Flemish Supercomputer Center (VSC). This framework agreement also includes the livering additional parts, software and maintenance contracts, additional services and ad hoc consultancy assignments for the Tier-1 infrastructure.

A supercomputer here means a computer with very high computing power. This computing power is provided by a large number of computersodes connected via a high-performance network. The system also includes a large and high-performance shared file system that is usable from all compute nodes. Together with the computing nodes, there is also infrastructure for managing and accessing the computer.

Within this frameworkIn the future, two Tier-1 supercomputers will be purchased and put into production, one by the end of 2025 (the reference configuration in the request for quotation), and an expansion by the end of 2027. This infrastructure will be used by researchers within universities and other research institutionslings as well as by industry researchers.
