Description:
This assignment is part of the management of canals and waterways (asset management). In part to ensure that good drainage is guaranteed or, conversely, the water is retained so that it can infiltrate better and be drained off less quickly.
Our waterways form an important habitat (flora) and migration corridor (fauna) that usually have important functions related to the different areas in which they are located (residential, nature, agriculture, industry). In order to be able to (or continue to) fulfill these functions, they must be maximally open and designed ecologically.
Today they are therefore considered to be the so-called green-blue ribbons.
This assignment includes, among other things, for canals, watercourses, buffer basins, etc.:
• Clearing sludge;
•Maintenance of banks and greenery present on them;
• Renewal of arches (referred to as 'culverts');
•Construction of watercourses and basins
•Construction of plot entrances (usually at the expense of the applicant - arrangement for working at the request of third parties);
•Opening up watercourses by removing pipes and tubes from those watercourses;
• Designing watercourses (instead of buffering and infiltration, strengthening the ecology);
•Installing bank reinforcement;
