Description:
The works for the realization of the Oosterweel node will take approximately ten years. During this period, the Parish Church Sint-Jan de Baptist is more difficult to access for maintenance as well as for interested parties who want to visit this monument. That is why the protected heritage will be used as part of the project communication whereby the church is temporarily re-used for reception and presentation hub. For this temporary re -use are required for both the exterior and in the interior, so that some basic needs can be met. This concerns both a number of conservation works and reversible interventions. A number of reversible interventions are provided in the interior, such as the integration of an increased church floor and the implementation of adequate climatization. The plenum between concrete slab and increased church floor is used to the maximum for the integration of the new techniques. This solution is completely reversible where the materials used can be fully recovered after dismantling.
