- In a context of reconstruction/renovation of the post-invitation downtown, a cold and hot supply project of buildings by open geothermal energy was proposed as part of the 2022 geothermal call. The Verviétois basement , although very complex, conceals very likely areas conducive to shallow geothermal energy, in particular by the presence of aquifer from 45 to 80m thick. At the center of this project is the energy renovation of the former Grand Bazaar, located at the corner of rue Crapaurue and Pont aux Lions, and its transformation into an administrative city included in the portfolio subject to Feder calls 21-27. The installation of a geothermal system open in hyper center (important density of impetants) in order to supply energy the renovated building is an example of innovation and adaptation of the city of Verviers.
