Description:
Most banks are subjected both to the corporate Sustainability Directive Reporting (CSRD), the European Sustainability Standard reporting, Requirement disclose E1-1 Transition Plan for Climate Change Mitigation and the requirements of disclosure of the ESG risks of Basel agreements (pillar pillar (pillar pillar (pillar pillar 3). The development, adoption and implementation of solid transition plans are essential to meet these regulatory requirements. In Belgium, banks have already published transition plans as part of their sustainability reporting. The objective of this work is to better understand how banks design transition plans, what are the obstacles they encounter and what possible political responses can meet their concerns in this context. In addition, this work also aims to identify best practices and to make recommendations to allow banks to comply with their regulatory obligations.
