- In the DEEPER BLUE project, the reuse of WWTP effluent into drinking water is linked to underground buffering of the produced drinking water, the so-called Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) principle. Waterunie, the subsidiary of water companies Farys and De Watergroept this project at the WWTP Aalst in collaboration with Aquafin and supported by the CAPTURE research platform. This initiative is part of a program of the Flemish Environmental Agency that is part of the Blue Deal of the Flemish Government. DEEPER BLUE stands for 'DEEP buffering for EffluentReuse'.
