Description:
The BBNJ (High Seas Treaty) agreement was adopted after more than 15 years of negotiations and aims to protect and sustainably manage biodiversity in the high seas. Belgium has played a pioneering role in this area and is now a candidate to host the treaty secretariat via the #BBNJBRUSSELS campaign. In view of the pre-COP and the first COP in 2026, the Marine Environment Service is looking for a strategic advisor to continue the development and implementation of the campaign. The mission includes the development of a strategic and communication framework, diplomatic support and support for international events. The FPS SPSCAE provides background materials and support.
