- Tenders are invited for Simulations Investigating Network Benefits of Advanced RNP Operations EUROCONTROL* is an intergovernmental organisation with 41 Member and 2 Comprehensive Agreement States. We are committed to building, together with our partners, a Single European Sky that will deliver the air traffic management (ATM) performance required for the twenty-first century and beyond. Technical subject matter: The present request is to publish a Call for Tender for the investigation of potential benefits Advanced RNP could offer for the European Network. The activity concerns the study of the feasibility and benefits of using the new Advanced RNP navigation specification for the design and execution of initial approach procedures, connected to RNP final approach procedures in a parallel runway environment. The lateral transitions when changing from one navigation specification to another at the final approach point will be studied, as well as the vertical aspects, more in particular the capability of aircraft to execute continuous descent operations under these conditions. The test will be performed in different aircraft types and under different environmental conditions such as temperature and wind. The results will be shared with stakeholder through reports presented to stakeholder consultation groups like the EUROCONTROL Navigation Steering Group (NSG) and the ICAO PBN Task Force. Results will also be presented to ICAO groups like the Instrument Flight Procedures Panel (IFPP) and the ICAO Separation and Airspace Safety Panel (SASP) for the development of international aviation standards.
