• Object of the assignment: setting up a play area in Schoonhoven Park. Explanation: the assignment involves the design and realization of a play area, as part of the recreational offering for visitors in the park. The play zone should be interwoven into the experience and view blend in with the other zones in the park and should therefore have a natural appearance. The play zone combines a zone that is mainly aimed at smaller children with a zone that is aimed more at older children, without a hard dividing line but, on the contrary, offers opportunities for interplay between younger and older children. In any case, the play zone offers ample play incentives and challenges for all ages and abilities, which also implies wide accessibility. The play area serves to be clear with regard to parental supervision and contact with the environment and to this end also offer places where parents and supervisors can stay. For this reason, the zone for the little ones is preferably within sight of the current catering business accompanying terrace. Optionally, the city wishes to investigate the possibility of making a playful connection with the recreational pond through a route with play elements in and along the elongated wadi that runs from the recreational pond to the play area.
