  • Description:
  • Sedimentological Reconstrument of Kempen Pelvis During The Diantian
The assignment aims at a sedimentological analysis of the Dinantian in the Kempens basin with a paleogeographic pelvic reconstruction. Based on available data and insights, a sedimentological model will be drawn up that the evolution and distribution of sedimentary facial and deposition environments in relation to the structure of the pelvis represents through time (basin analysis). Here too, insights are also integrated into tectonics and subsequent distortion (diagenis) so that a logic reconstruction can be made from these layers since their deposition to the current configuration (including later solution that can affect the thickness after deposition). Points for attention are the location of lime platforms, zones in emersion, the transition to the deeper pelvis (eg sharp slope by fractures dictated) and the thickness variation. The intention is that the result of this study can serve as a kind of backbone in the 3D geometric modeling of the layers. After all, there are few direct observations (nuclear drilling) and indirect observations (logs and seismics) available, ...
