Within the current environment, technical secrets (such as passwords, certificates, API keys, encryption keys and service account credentials) are managed and accessed in various ways. This leads to limited centralization, insufficient visibility of use and lifecycle, and increased risks in the field of security, audit and operational management. De Lijn wishes to evolve towards a centralized secret management solution that: • Centrally manages and unlocks technical secrets • Enables automated access to secrets for applications and infrastructure components • Supports integration with DevOps and infrastructure platforms (including CI/CD, container platforms), and connects to existing identity and access mechanisms without being dependent on them • lifecycle management and rotation of secrets supports • Demonstrably covers audit and compliance requirements • Can be used within a hybrid context (on-premise and cloud) The focus of this market exploration is on the software solution (tooling).
