- Following the floods which affected the province of Liège in 2021, the SPI (the territorial development agency for the province of Liège) is undertaking resilient reconstruction work on the banks of the Hoëgne, the watercourse passing through the commune of Theux. The hydraulic studies carried out highlighted the need for the work described below, near the Theux Sports Center. On the right bank, from upstream to downstream: - Section 1: Demolition and reconstruction of the wall support; the current very degraded masonry wall is replaced by an L-shaped reinforced concrete wall with masonry facing. - Section 2: Demolition and reconstruction set back 2 to 5 m from the retaining wall; the current very degraded masonry wall is replaced by an L-shaped reinforced concrete wall with masonry facing. - Creation of the access tracks necessary for the work. - Partial removal of access tracks and creation of low-water benches. - Implementation of diversification mechanisms flows. On the left bank, the work consists of demolishing and evacuating the storm spillway, maintaining the first 10 meters, and providing an aqueduct head with a non-return valve.
