- How do we find a contemporary, urban answer tailored to Ghent to the additional demand for homes for families with children and how do we reconcile this with the fact that we have to use our limited space wisely? Or better yet, which homes use the space we have smartly without ato compromise on the living qualities that families with children need? The City of Ghent wants to investigate this. The assignments described below are part of this research. Specifically, the contractors are asked to: 1. Question a diverse group of families with children in Ghent about their livesinexperiences. Both parents and children are interviewed. 2. Collect and analyze good examples of child- and youth-friendly homes in a diversity of typologies from Ghent, at home and abroad, for their residential qualities. The examples take into account the Ghent context in terms of van scale, morphology, historical context, relevant to different neighborhoods, replacement construction, new construction, etc. 3. Write a reflection on the entire conducted research, consisting of the two parts described above on the one hand and a literature study and demographic analysis on the otheroerd by the City of Ghent 4. To develop, supervise, report and document two workshops in the vision phase.
