Description:
The Oud-Strijderslaan park is located between Meersstraat, Koning Albertlaan and Oud-Strijderslaan in Lokeren. This assignment is only located between the 2 high residential blocks. The shrub planting needs to be replaced. The seating areas are dated and a light renovation is required. The farOlder concrete L-element flower boxes are being broken up. The underplanting under the trees will be replaced by perennials that will provide more biodiversity and transparency. The planting on the side slopes will be provided with flowering plants, meadow flowers and flower bulbslen. All existing trees will be retained. In addition, the connections throughout the zone and the pavements are made in a mixture of ternary sand. One connection in two directions, for cyclists from the Vredeshof to the Meersstraat, will be realized in new paving. The connectionng between the two residential blocks is accentuated, and flanked by more seating, a wooden theater bench, space for petanquing and a spacious picnic area. All lawns are then re-landscaped. It is also proposed to tackle the unsafe ramps for the disabled and to build a new oneramp and safe access for wheelchairs is provided at the first residential block. The existing climbing equipment will remain. In collaboration with the sports and youth service, sports and play incentives are strengthened and supplemented. The youth service has a separate budget to achieve this.
