Description:
The assignment concerns the renovation of building section D.U-C on Campus Drie Eiken of the University of Antwerp. The building houses three research groups with animal experiments and will remain in use during the works. Careful planning and phasing is necessary so as not to disrupt research activities. The Construction and Finishing lot (lot 30) includes the demolition of interior walls, ceilings, floors and interior joinery, followed by new architectural layouts, epoxy floors, mineral fiber ceilings, interior doors and painting. Radiation-resistant and hygienic finishes (cleanroom requirements) are also part of the assignment. The contractor of lot 30 acts as the coordinating contractor for the site layout and must work closely with the secondary contractors of HVAC, electricity and laboratory furniture. Nuisance caused by noise, vibrations and dust must be kept to a minimum; music or noisy behavior is prohibited.
