Description:
The works include an adjustment to the existing stairwell at the entrance of the Ghent Stadskantoor. The building is now only accessible to less mobile people through a lift. Integrating a slope into this existing staircase construction will be the accessibility of theraise the building. The works include: 1/ the demolition of the existing coverings of the staircase 2/ Adjusting and adding different support structures and foundations 3/ Growing the existing staircase with new slope of prefab concrete 3/ replacing the paving on theIncreased forecourt, located at the top of the stairs The existing stairs will be converted into a staircase with a integrated slope of max. 4.97%. This slope leaves at the ground level on Woodrow Wilsonplein and comes at the top of the raised forecourt, on top of the bicycle parking, where the entranceof the city office is located.
