Description:
The city is committed to providing a safe crossing on Augustijnenstraat, near the Vrijbosroute. It is proposed to provide the crossing on a traffic plateau. Nearby is the intersection Augustijnenstraat x Sportstraat. There are two traffic islands at this intersection,that are regularly hit. The oblique location of the Augustijnenstraat compared to the intersection ensures that vehicles drive to the crossing without much speed inhibition. The traffic island closest to the Sportstraat ensures that cyclists the Augustijnenstraat betweenSportstraat and Haiglaan are not allowed to use in the opposite direction. It is therefore proposed to remove the islands involved and to straighten the Augustijnenstraat in relation to the Sportstraat. This branch of the intersection can also be added to the traffic plateau, as well as theTak Augustijnenstraat side Adriaansensweg and Belletstraat. At the start of the Sportstraat, an axle shift is provided for speed inhibition. A pedestrian and bicycle crossing is provided on various branches of the intersection. In the Augustijnenstraat between Helakker and SportstraatParking courses are provided in semi -paving along both sides.
