- iMio aims to promote and coordinate the pooling of business solutions, products and services for local authorities.
iMio is structured around three main activities:
●Producing open source software that meets the needs of local authorities. The open source modelallows iMio to have control of the tools and to have the choice of service provider for carrying out developments. Part of the developments can also be carried out internally, which guarantees greater autonomy of action;
●Purchasing solutions in the purchasing center/market to allowallow municipalities to benefit from market solutions at a lower cost and offer a support service for their use and development;
●Support members and formalize the IT projects of local authorities (organizational).
The proposed philosophy remains that of the mutualisation in the "bottom-up" logic and shared efforts to reduce costs for members, while producing solutions that are permanently better adapted to the realities of local authorities, since they are the ones who produce them or have them produced. It is fundamental that bidders adadhere to this mode of operation in order to guarantee massive adoption of the project thanks to the functional adequacy existing between the reality of the services and their IT tools.
