Description:
The mission of the SPGE is to ensure the coordination and financing of the water sector in Wallonia. In consultation with other water partners, it primarily deals with the sanitation of wastewater (from the sewer to the WWTP) and the protection of catchments.
Sanitation repThere are approximately 440 STEPs and more than 1,200 pumping stations. Given its multi-site nature, SPGE delegates control of the works to the Approved Sanitation Organizations (OAA), of which there are seven, with whom SPGE collaborates effectively.
In its management contract with the Walloon Government, SPGE undertakes in particular to strengthen control of its energy consumption, and to develop the use of renewable energies.
In this context, SPGE is organizing the market for the installation of photovoltaic panels on 39 of its operating sites .
