• Opening the Mandel in the park “Wandel op de Mandel” (phase A) in Izegem - specification no. L 3605 I 0006 B of the Sweco engineering office - district no. W2/2601/MDL - open tender - in collaboration with the city of Izegem The assignment essentially includes all works, supplies and services necessary for the opening of the Mandel (phase A) in the park “Wandel op de Mandel” in Izegem, with a view to the design of a climate-robust and ecologically valuable watercourse and park zone. The assignment fits in a joint approach by the Flemish Environment Agency (VMM) and the city of Izegem, with VMM acting as the contracting authority. The assignment includes (non-exhaustive): • Opening up the currently boxed Mandel, including the dismantling, demolition and earthworks that are required for this, so that the watercourse is given space again. • Profiling and designing the open watercourse with soft, natural banks and adapted bank protection. • The construction of flood zones to support water safety and hydrological recovery. • Landscape and ecological development works to strengthen the green-blue ecological corridor, including plantings and natural engineering interventions. • The realization and reconstruction of walking paths and park layout within the “Wandel op de Man-del” park, including the installation of street furniture. • Cutting down trees and shrubs, including destumping. • Concrete works, including the construction of sheet pile walls with concrete caps ground anchors, a soil mix wall, a concrete quay apron and a retaining wall. • The construction of rubble stone, posts and toe planks. • All temporary facilities and site organization that are common...
