- The assignment includes: • dismantling the steel awnings that were attached to the concrete awnings; • repairing the concrete of the canopies; • applying a protective coating afterwards; • replacing the joints between the precast concrete edge elements; • reassembling the steel awnings. A preliminary investigation was carried out to determine the condition of the concrete. This preliminary investigation has been added in the appendix. The columns and beams and the concrete slabs above the 1st floor have an acceptable concrete cover and have been damaged to a limited extent. These can be repaired by locally removing the loose and damaged concrete and repairing it with hydraulic repair mortar. For the concrete slabs of the canopy above the ground floor, the estimate of the percentage of loose and damaged concrete is 30% to 70% of the surface area. Here are 2 mandatory ones variants are provided, namely local repairs such as columns and beams or the global removal of the concrete cover by hydrodemolition, followed by the application of shotcrete. The final choice will be determined after detailed probing of 2 bays to determine the percentage of affected concrete can be estimated significantly more correctly. After repair, the entire structure will be provided with a carbonation-inhibiting coating, the joints of the precast concrete edges will be renewed and the steel canopies will need to be repaired.
