Description:
The new EU regulation on products without deforestation (EUDR) entered into force on June 29, 2023 and contains essential rules demanding to put an end to deforestation and degradation of forests worldwide. It prohibits production and import into Europe, as well as export from Europe, products based on soy, wood, rubber, coffee and cocoa, palm oil or cattle , which contribute to deforestation and/or are produced illegally. The new legislation leads to challenges and obligations for the actors of the supply chains. Europe has the obligation to inform all stakeholders about the new rules and the SPF Public Health is responsible for it. The organization of information sessions for the sectors is therefore an essential activity, which to be carried out in order to guarantee a transmission of quality information requires moderation services.
