- Description:
- The current government contract concerns the construction and maintenance of infrastructure works that will involve the reconversion of the EBMB site, the military airport south of the Haachtsesteenweg in Melsbroek. The reconversion includes the following infrastructure works: an administrative building for command needs and accommodation of the flying group, a new military airport with adapted facilities for passenger, baggage and cargo handling, a covered depot for airport-related equipment and vehicles, (logistical) facilities and workshops to support A400M, MRTT as well as the Special Operation Forces Regiment, the integration of the HORECA facilities, the construction of outdoor depots (APRON), circulation roads and maneuvering zones for aircraft, parking lots and routes for track vehicles. Special attention will be paid to an integrated approach to utilities, sewerage and roads. The development of the assignment must take into account the applicable urban development and environmental regulations as well as the applicable ICAO aviation standards and "NATO standards for airfields". The project will be carried out on the basis of a Design, Build & Maintain assignment. After the Design & Build phase, a 'maintenance and operation' phase of 10 years begins with an additional terminable period of 10 years as a mandatory option.
