Leuven-Oost-Sleeing traffic study between the E40 and E314
The subject of the assignment is the provision of study and design services necessary for investigating the short-term traffic problems in the vicinity of Leuven, more specifically the environment marked out by the E40, E314 and the N223. This definition is an initial estimate, and can be extended if the study work shows that certain bottlenecks contribute to the shortcut traffic problems. The main objective of the study can be charted where the biggest problems with shortcuts sit in the study area, and to View whether an extension of the N25 between the N3 and N2 - and possibly further to the E314 - can offer a solution for this. This connection is the main alternative that must be investigated, but any alternative solutions can be further suggested in the context of the cost-benefit analysis. An important part of the study is therefore the mapping of the shortcut problem (origin and destination of the traffic ), with a multidisciplinary study of solutions for this.
