- The circus sector is in full development. With a view to sustainable growth, it is important in this phase to give further professionalization plenty of opportunities. This is a clear goal of the circus decree of 1 March 2019. Existing research into the socio-economic and labor market situation within the circus sector it became clear that we have little research and data about business and supporting profiles in the Circusveld. The Department of Culture, Youth and Media therefore wants to have a quantitative and qualitative research carried out that provides insight into the labor market of these supporting workers within the circus sector. The research wants to check which competencies are present within the sector and whether the competencies present match the needs of the field. If there is no agreement, it wants to check what the possible causes and associated solutions of this mismatch can be. The results of this study want to use the department to adjust the current circus policy in order to support the further professionalization of the sector sustainably.
