- IVBO's household waste incineration plant was officially commissioned in 1982. The high-tech waste processing unit has a nominal capacity of 200,000 tons on an annual basis. The installation is equipped with 3 identical furnace lines, each with a capacity of 9 tons per hour.
The incineratorThe oven can actually also be seen as a power plant, because waste has been converted into heat and electricity for more than 20 years. The three incinerators generate steam that is used for the following applications:
•Electricity for own needs and for sale on the electricity gridelectricity grid of Elia (new turbine in use
since July 2012);
•Process heat for own needs;
•Heat network heating and distribution to external customers.
There is an existing boiler house that is responsible for back-up and distribution to the heat network, which is currently due for replacement and remains in operationduring the works.
With these specifications, tenderers are sought who are responsible for the new construction of the industrial back-up boiler room on the IVBO site, and the connection with the existing heat production, with the existing and new heat network pipes and with the existing utility pipes.
Importante remark: The installation is designed for the supply of heat to the heating network with a total capacity of 35 MW. In this contract, the backup boilers and circulation pumps are provided for a total capacity of 15 MW, with all the necessary facilities to enable later expansion.... - Documents:
