Description:
Shepherding the flock of sheep and goats using flexi netting mainly takes place in the Houtsaegerduinen in De Panne. In addition, the ANB also wishes to implement grazing in the Oostvoorduinen in Oostduinkerke in Koksijde. Houtsaegher dunes: This area has a history of desiccation and shrubberyng. Both phenomena have reduced and qualitatively affected the existing dry dune grasslands. Grazing should prevent further entanglement and increase the quality of the dune grasslands. In addition to the sheep and goat herd, the domain is already grazed with donkeys. During the first yearIn addition to these grazers, three Zebus cattle will soon be used on the Houtsaegerduinen, which will be purchased by the contracting authority (see also III.1). Oostvoorduinen: A medieval Kopsduinen landscape where grazing has been reintroduced this year. Only some parts, i.eThe southern zone (colored yellow and orange on the map) has already been mowed (several times), other parts (colored green and orange on the map) are gradually becoming rougher. The green zone is even completely overgrown with sea buckthorn and the orange zone is becoming grassy. Grazing must continue hereprevent succession. Currently no other grazing is applied in the area to be grazed.
