The Thor park is in full development. City Genk wishes to further strengthen the site and the environment. On the corner of Herenstraat and Andre Dumontlaan there is an area that acts as a link between the Stiemervallei and the Thor Park. The stream valley, which borders this area, determines The spatial framework for a qualitative development. The city of Genk is the owner of a project land of 3,503 m2 in this area, located on the Andre Dumontlaan. The City of Genk wants to sell the project land so that a housing project can be realized here, which gives new impulses to this environment. It Rup Andre Dumont phase 1 revision (https://www.genk.be/rupandredumont) proposes a cluster development of grouped and stacked living with regard to the project land. This in head buildings with any small -scale neighborhood support functions. There can be around 40 to 45 residential units realized. With this guideline, the City of Genk invites candidate developers to submit a proposal for the purchase of this project land. Candidate developers who, among other things, focus on affordable living, sustainability and a strong relationship with the Stiemerbeek valley, have an extra chance of allocation.
