Description:
The aim of this assignment consists of performing nature and civil engineering procedures, i.c. the excavation of given soil and the installation of concrete drokers/sewerage under existing drives, in the context of ecohydrological repair measures within the Baggersven located in the Ravels regional forest north of Turnhout . The Ravels regional forest is a former heathland on a Landduin, which was planned in the early 20th century to a large forest complex. By preventing a shallow clay layer in the substrate, drainage is poor and a superficial groundwater system has been created, where the drainage direction is largely determined by the topography. In order to be able to forest the former heathland, a complex of canals were dug to dewater the fens and wet pagan and a planned pattern of extraction roads was constructed throughout the dune complex. Part of the original fens were forested, but many fens were also transformed into grassland. The Baggersven is a former ven area that was transformed into grassland when reclining.
