Framework agreement for mobile portable 5G audio codecsThe VRT wants a framework agreement for mobile portable 5G audio codecs, which can be used to establish high-quality audio connections via IP networks. These audio connections must be able to work on both existing public vast IP networks as well as mobile IP networks. To ensure that the audio codecs are compatible with the existing infrastructure, they must use standardized IP protocols, including SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), Audio Contribution over IP and RTP (Real-time Transport Protocol). Standard algorithms must be applied for the audio coding within these audio codecs, such as Opus, MPEG and G722. These algorithms are widely recognized and provide high sound quality when transferring audio over IP networks. The purpose of this framework agreement is to ensure that:a wide range of mobile portable 5G audio codecs are available for use in different applications and environments.
