Description: All municipalities in the IOK region signed the European Mayor Covenant with which they are engaging in to reduce CO2 emissions to their territory by 40% by 2030 and to work in the field of climate adaptation. Among other things with extra trees in the territory, local authorities want to deploy this. Within the promotion, every family wishes to offer a free tree of the local government. The local administration pays the tree, the citizen is asked to plant it in his garden and let it grow into a full-fledged tree. Extra trees take CO2 from the air and also ensure cooling, extra biodiversity, improved water management and air purification. Iok takes care of the coordination and purchase of the trees commissioned by local authorities.
To work efficiently and coordinated, this action will be rolled out regionally with the interested local authorities.
