Description: Providing shore-side power is in line with the policy of the city of Antwerp to ensure that urban development, innovative city port and the quality of life in the area go hand in hand. At various locations in Antwerp, shore-based power facilities will therefore be installed in the short and medium term for shipping that reside in the urban port area and along the Scheldt quays "city zone". The use of shore power by shipping ensures cleaner air. There is less nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions in the immediate vicinity. CO2 emissions will also go down. Moreover, the surrounding area is no longer bothered by the noise from running generators. In order to provide a uniform service, the City of Antwerp wants to select a concessionaire through these specifications to take over the DBFMO Walstroom.
