- The Free University of Brussels, abbreviated ULB, and the French Community of Belgium, abbreviated CF, which ensures the real estate management of the school buildings of Wallonia-Brussels Education, abbreviated WBE, which itself is the organizing power of the Haute Ecole Bruxelles-Brabant, abbreviatedHE2B, have agreed to develop a science and technology center on the Plaine Campus.
In addition, the ULB and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, abbreviated VUB, have agreed to develop, as part of an FEDER project, a research center dedicated to information technology and communicationon, called Icity-RDI-BRU, on the Plaine Campus.
As part of the development of these projects and in execution of two service contracts awarded respectively by the ULB and the CF to the SAMYN integrated officereal estate complex, called Building E, composed of two buildings, to be erected on the Campus de la Plaine, called:
•The ULB Building, composed of three barrettes, two covered courtyards between said barrettes, half of the covered courtyard central to the separation grid and the shared surroundingses, intended to accommodate several services of the Ecole Polytechnique de Bruxelles and the IT department of the Faculty of Sciences of the ULB as well as the Icity-RSI-BRU and some spaces specific to the VUB;
