Description:
In December 2019, the city bought the site at Ieperseweg 120, with the aim of transforming it into an inter -municipal animal shelter. In June 2022, Buro C from Ghent was appointed as a design agency for this assignment. Buro C made a design for the site, the tender file of which is now being submitted for approval. The current site consists of a house, two sheds and some smaller outbuildings. The house will be furnished as a stay for cats. In addition to two common cat enclosures, with a maximum capacity of 47 cats, 52 individual lofts are also provided. The existing sheds are connected and furnished as dog kennels. In total, 24 kennels and 2 emergency kennels are planned. An administrative space with a reception will be added to the entrance. On the floor are changing rooms with showers and a dining room. For the care of the animals, a practice space for the vet, a legally required care space for dogs and spaces for food preparation are set up. Three walking meadows are laid outside.
