Description:
Through the current assignment, the Contracting Authority wishes to appoint a service provider who will be responsible for washing, maintaining and managing the linen, such as:
- the professional clothing
- the flat linen
The linen from the surgical quartier (OKA linen);
specific linen items e.g. belly band, children's clothing, ...
patient-related clothing (pyjamas, ...)
Household laundry (kitchen towels, dishcloths, ... )
Bed linen (duvets, blankets, ...)
…..
Except on Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays, the tenderer will provide the services daily according to the timetable imposed by the Contracting Authority.
-The treatment of linen and professional clothing must be done in full accordance with the applicable regulationse legislation and standards, as well as in accordance with the Recommendations of the Superior Health Council regarding the treatment of textiles in healthcare institutions (see, among other things, and in particular advice 9444 https://www.health.belgium.be/sites/default/files/uploads /fields/fpshealth_theme_file/hgr_advies_9444_textiel_022018_a4.pdf)
In 2023, a total of 2,052 tons of laundry were washed for the Contracting Authority (1,343 tons of flat linen - 97 tons of OKA linen - 612 tons of clothing) or an average of 44.6 tons/week. This also contained almost 1.8 million washed pieces of professional clothing.
