The contract includes the execution of work for different parties. The Infrabel co partnsists mainly on improving water management between BK 21,700 and 23,000 of the L53 railway line ("Put van Malderen"). Work to improve water management is necessary to avoid flooding of the railway platform and sliding of the embankment, whichwhich would cause delays for trains. Indeed, the platform of line L53 between PK 21 700 and PK 23 000 is waterlogged. Due to the incision of the railway track into the natural terrain, part of the rainwater flows through the surface into the railway platforme. Municipal RWA (roadside, ditches) and DWA (waste water) sewers enter the track side ditches at different locations along the railway line. Due to this continuous inflow of water onto the railway platform, effective drainage of the track is impossible inns the current state of affairs without taking meaningful action.
