The partners want to create a compact and energy -efficient building in Vilvoorde in an available leasehold location. This project, developed in collaboration with the city and CAW Halle-Vilvoorde, includes the demolition of an existing building to make way for reception studios. The new building must be flexibleare for current and future users, because the existing building is not suitable for the intended purpose and has considerable damage. Facing bricks, floors and finishes are reused within the building where possible. Furthermore, recycled materials such asStained glass foam granules for insulation. The structure of the building consists of wooden columns and beams. Thanks to the flexible and adjustable rooms, different solutions can be offered for various living needs. The studios and rooms can be combined with each other thanks to a logical onePlan structure. This offers the client the opportunity to make maximum use of the building, not only for the current, but also for future needs. The logical grid that is applied in the building offers various options for future interpretations such as administrativeCenter for the city of Vilvoorde.
