- The VRT will move to a new building with new media facilities. In preparation, the VRT has created the Service Operation Center (SOC). This concept will bring together different operational areas for TV and radio in one location, such as media transfer, centralaccess point, the playout, the distribution and processing of the media and the signal management for television and radio within the VRT. The following principles apply to the design of the SOC:
•The services of the SOC are automated and centralized as much as possible.
•The departments and brands of theVRT can make as much independent use as possible of the options offered by the SOC. ("autonomy for the brands")
•The solutions must be as user-friendly as possible (rights management is possible / by limiting which functions are accessible per user group, it becomesuse easier)
•The solutions for the SOC must be able to be moved to the new building as easily as possible. ("easy to move")
•The solutions must build on an architecture that enables system and data management.
VRT wants to be far-sighted through the futureto prepare and put into use some of the core infrastructure now - and then move it when the new location is ready.
