- The project provides for the construction of an additional drinking water connection between the collector pipes DN900 at the Moerstraat/Rode Weel and the supply pipe DN800 on the Scheldelaan. The route of this new connection is divided into different sections. On the different sections Various techniques are used, including laying new pipes in an open trench, renovation of existing pipes, installing liners in an existing pipe sleeve and installing pipe-in-pipe systems in an existing pipe pipe.
Water-link is running parallel to this project Hydropower project. In this project, raw water is captured from the Verzette Schijn near the Rode Weel. This water is transported to a new purification plant to be built, located on Scheldelaan, and purified into cooling water for industrial customers. Some work for Hydropower is included in this specification because of synergy effects.
The 4 plots roughly comprise the different sections of the route, each using a different technique. The demarcation of the plots is determined in such a way that the synergies are maximized and connections between the different sections can run smoothly.
