- Assistance with project management (BPB), system engineering and follow-up of the implementation works for the programs for the modernization and expansion of the metro network of the Brussels-Capital Region
STIB is implementing a Program for the Modernization and Extension of the Metro (PMM), of whichn the perimeter concerns the metro network of the Brussels-Capital Region. This program implements, among other things, a signaling system with floating blocks. This system uses the CBTC technology (CBTC = Communication Based Train Control). This system makes it automaticatic control of subways possible. We call this UTO (Unattended Train Operation), which also includes a system of platform walls in the stations for this purpose.
Parallel to this, STIB has started the construction of the new metro line 3, which consists on the one hand of adapting the existing tunnel offrom the Albert station to the Noordstation station and, on the other hand, from the construction of a new metro line between the Noordstation and Bordet stations. Separate and coordinated programs are being drawn up for these projects.
In this context, STIB wishes to serve a new framework contractn to be realized for Project Management Assistance (BPB), system engineering and follow-up of implementation works within the framework of these programmes:
