Description:
The object of the assignment is Sigma project Demervallei: Carrying out works in the context of water storage and water safety downstream of Aarschot. This concerns water-related work aimed at guaranteeing water safety within the Demer Valley. The works will take place bothn the navigable watercourse Demer and in the underlying flood area of this watercourse.
The works relate to the following areas:
-DP02: renew existing culvert and install spindle gate and check valve
-DP04: connect meanders 17, 18 and 18b, excavate the left bank dike,partial filling of Demer, realization of a threshold, relocation of the service road, construction of an exit and entry point for canoeing and kayaking. meander 17
-DP05-1 and DP05-2: connecting meanders 21, 22 and 22b, excavating the left bank dike, partial filling of Demer, construction of a navigable thresholdfor canoe and kayak, relocation of the service road
-DP06-2: relocation of service road
-DP07: connecting meander 25, excavating the left bank dike, filling in Demer, relocating service road, construction of bivouac sites
-DP08-1, DP08-2 and DP08- 3: realization of local water retaining structures
-DP10: connecting meanders 31 and 32, excavating the left bank dike, partially filling in the Demer, creating a threshold, relocating the service road, constructing a breach of 100 m
-DP11: connecting the Demer with the Grote Laak via meander 10bis
-DP 12: safety constructions along the Grote Laak near Guldentop
