- EcoWerf wishes to build a new transshipment site at the newly built unloading quay on the Vaart in Leuven. The quay is constructed by the De Vlaamse Waterweg. The plot for the construction of the transshipment site amounts to 8,327 m². The following functionalities are required the site - Transfer hall - Techniques to compress the waste into the necessary containers for water transport - Weighbridges - Limited office space, canteen and sanitary facilities for the employees of the transhipment hall - Technical room - Industrial hall for use by third parties - Parking spaces - Green buffer - Water management (infiltration capacity) The site must be designed in such a way that the logistics flows run optimally, taking into account the sensitivity of the site to flooding and the bundle of utility lines on the site. The proposed schedule of the project is as follows: - Design team appointment: June 2026 - Preliminary draft: August 2026 - December 2026 - Request for advice: January 2027 - Preparation of permit application: February - March 2027 - Permit procedure: April - August 2027 - Tender file: May - November 2027 - Construction: March 2027 - August 2029 The estimated project budget for the construction of the site is 6,000,000 euros (excl.
