• However, this application will only focus on the renovation of the front building and adjustments to the current fire standard. The renovation of the rear building is therefore not included in this application and has already been carried out and completed in the spring of 2026. The project aims to make the Brouwershuis publicly accessible again through structural and sustainable exploitation by the non-profit organization Brouwershuis Antwerp. In contrast to the previous situation, in which the museum was closed and only limited was accessible to the public, is now committed to regular opening with guided tours and educational activities. To make this public function possible, urban planning actions are provided that are aimed at safe, accessible and proper access to the entire building. This includes the redesign of circulation areas, the provision of adapted reception and public zones, improving accessibility and safety, and adapting certain areas that are not suitable for public use in their existing condition. The intensity and frequency of use will therefore change substantially compared to the previous museum operation.
