Description:
The Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Liege wishes to acquire equipment for characterizing low temperature fuel cells, suitable for analyzing the performance of "PEM" type single-cell batteries (Proton Exchange Membrane). ).The equipment must at least make it possible to measure the usual performances of 25 cm2 single-cell PEM batteries (i.e. determination of the polarization curve), for powers up to 50 W, at temperatures of 70 to 100C and under humidity. controlled supply gases. It must also allowet the acquisition of diagnostic data such as (i) the determination of the active catalytic surface by cyclic voltammetry, (ii) the determination of internal resistances by impedance spectroscopy, (iii) the measurement of the crossover current and (iv) the usual accelerated aging testss by voltage variation. This bench will be mainly used for analyzing the performance of new fuel cell materials, such as cathode and anodic catalysts, membranes or even bipolar plates.
