Description:
The site named ‘Place des Poujons', corresponding to the space at the crossroads of the streets of the studs, prevalence and Doctor Kuborn, is part of the first series of concrete redevelopment projects from the Masterplan "Developments of public spaces around the Biestebroeck basin in Anderlecht" (Org-Bassmets, 2021 Momentan Association, commissioned by Beliris). This describes the main lines of vision and ambitions for the development of public spaces in the area. They are described in a global development plan and an operational note that were approved in 2021. The project completely modifies the existing traffic situation by cutting the rue des Toujons and creating a new central square between the two recently completed Citydev buildings. Among the passages under the railway, only one will be kept for car traffic, the other will link The new square in the future Petit Island park for pedestrians and cyclists. The entire public space is built in red clay cobblestones, with the exception of the prevailing street which is in red concrete. In addition, all existing trees will be preserved, the green zones will be considerably enlarged And a playground will be created.
