- The service building was delivered for the time being in 2006, the facade structure is around 18 years old at the time of writing this specifications. In 2011 the first panels of the current cladding came loose. Over the years, this appears to be a recurring problem after performing multiple repairs. In August 2020, an advice was then drawn up by a specialized engineering office. This shows that the recurring damage is due to a fundamental problem on the façade structure, namely the lack of ventilation, causing the full package to rot through moisture. Based on this advice, it was considered that the most sustainable solution is replacing the entire façade structure (façade cladding, insulation & control work). At the level of the red-white & gray cladding on the service building, the entire façade structure (façade cladding, insulation & control work) will be removed to the load-bearing concrete structure. A more efficient insulation package (cf. energy performance regulations) will be installed, therefore the current roof edges must be renewed.
